Portable Near Infrared Vein Finder

See difficult veins in a new light

Welcome to Novarix

Novarix develops innovative medical devices to simplify and improve Intravenous (IV) therapy.

IV Therapy is used across the world for administering fluid, drugs, and nutrition. Over 1 billion cannulas are used worldwide on an annual basis and an estimated 90% of all hospital admissions in the USA involve having a cannula inserted.

Taking a blood sample is also one of the most common medical procedures in both the acute and primary care sectors.

These procedures are very often not straightforward due to difficult veins caused by a range of patient factors. This can cause delays in treatment, increased costs and a poor standard of care.

Recently, nursing organisations such as the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) have recommended the use of vein visualisation technology when attempting to access difficult veins.

Our latest product, the IV-eye®, is a near infrared (NIR) vein finder, designed to help healthcare professionals to assess patients’ vascular structure in full and identify the best site in the best vein for peripheral IV cannulation and venepuncture, particularly for those with difficult veins.
